REMOVABLE COVERS
The insulation covers from Shur-Fit are made of a non- combustible inner lining, followed by an insulation material with another non-combustible layer on the outside. Therefore, they are non-combustible, tear and abrasion resistant, and can also be made oil and water resistant.
The pads are flexible, vibration resistant and can be installed on irregular or difficult to access fittings. They can also contain built-in acoustical barriers for noise control.
They are made from a variety of insulation materials to suit each situation, the most common being: Type E Glass Mat, Ceramic Fibre, Mineral Fibre and Foams totally encapsulated with fabric coatings like Teflon, Silicone, Neoprene, Hypalon, Inconel and Stainless Steel Wire Mesh. Different closure systems are also available: Velcro straps, Lacing Hooks, Wire, Straps and Buckles.

APPLICATION
The insulation covers are designed to be used as removable covers on equipment and fittings that require frequent inspection and servicing, or on equipment difficult to access. Are best used in situations where a specific fitting needs to be insulated while remaining easily accessible at all times. Can be used both indoors and outdoors.
As a general rule, any surface that reaches temperatures greater than 120F (49°C) should be insulated to reduce heat loss, reduce emissions, and improve safety.
The insulating pads are made for temperatures ranging from 40F (4°C) to 1600F (871°C).
